Chrysalis: Preordainment (Juliana enjoyed a wealthy young life of little note, other than she was beloved, popular, smart, and perhaps spoiled; earlier, during the Resurgence, the faerie spirit that would become Juliana escaped Arcadia, fleeing an ancient foe she could not now recall; that foe who had levied this cursed on her then darted her anew, and her spirit fell into a chimerical sleep, hidden from all in the Mists, until it inexplicably broke the curse long enough to find a host: when Juliana received a hepatitis vaccine, the needle causing her to fall into a coma, from which her loving mother rescued her with a despairing kiss—but now Juliana was Sidhe), 1988

The Test: Trial by Knowledge (the Glamour of her Chrysalis was noticed by local fae, who brought the stunning Sidhe to the nearest noble, who took Juliana in as a “finishing school”, and teaching her the ways of the fae and the Escheat, welcoming her into the high ranks of the nobility per her birthright; she earned her Naming through excellent observation of proper protocol and recitation of fae heraldry)

Transition: Shift in Nature (though her body was kept safe in Aoibhell’s demesnes, unknown persons snuck into the abode and sexually abused her comatose form, which only deepened her comatose state for years and would come to torment her waking and sleeping subconscious thereafter with murky flashbacks and nightmares; luckily, Queen Serena’s vision included Juliana, and she visited the sleeping Sidhe almost 20 years after she fell asleep; she broke the curse [temporarily] with a kiss of love that confused all—for how did Serena even know Juliana?—to which Serena vaguely answered only that she “loved all her fellow fae”; though still determined to undo this curse lest it befall her again, she loyally began her service to Queen Serena and the Ensemble)

Details: Though she has a strong memory of her Arcadian past, she cannot pinpoint the enemy who so cursed her, his face deliberately obfuscated by the Mists. However, she has recently seized the memory of how she was cursed: a silver needle was introduced into the back of her head, wherein it melted and congealed with her brain, making it now nearly impossible to remove without a magical operation that would likely kill her.

Juliana is truly stunning, one of the most beautiful Sidhe in the world. It's likely that beauty inspired the curse that now ails her; it certainly may draw ire from jilted or rejected suitors today.
