Chrysalis: Preordainment (enjoyed a peaceful rustic upbringing in a small Danish town in a family that, by family lore, held ancient ties to the Aesir elves; she had just finished gymnasium and was prepared to go to college for an agricultural engineering degree, when the 2nd Resurgence dawned and the spirits of Aesin returned; for her beauty, poise, and practical talents she was immediately chosen in a moment of observing a particularly dazzling aurora borealis), 1999

The Test: Trial by Knowledge (many other Aesin returned as well, and she was lucky enough to count herself among the king’s court in the re-established Sidhe Kingdom of Jutland; she tapped her memories and trained with the royal court for years, earning her Naming and carving out a name for herself as having a natural talent with chimerical beasts—specifically, dragons!)

Key Event #2: War (her personal ambitions often had to take a back seat as the kingdom called upon her services to help fight against minions of the Fomhoire that kept crawling out of the woodwork as if also awakened by the 2nd Resurgence, and so she spent many years bloodying her axe against such monsters)
Transition: Defeat (after a particularly fierce battle, she saw her fellow retainers fall one by one to the demons and she too nearly perished, but a powerful faerie queen—Serena—appeared and obliterated the remaining monsters, and in return for saving Erin requested her aid in the Ensemble endeavor; with the unspoken promise of seeking dragons if not fellow riders in a new land, she obtained her king’s permission and departed for America with Queen Serena)

Magnitude: Erin can remember a few centuries into the past to the more recent age of Arcadia after the Shattering.
Details: She especially remembers herself as a mighty Dragon Rider warrior, one of King Harald’s most powerful vassals, a legacy she heartily wishes to reclaim.

Chimera


Dragon Saddle
Appearance: Of burnished leather, it resembles a horse’s saddle but twice as large and elongated, etched with glyphs that seem to glitter with crystalline stardust.

Effects: Any chimerical dragon whose back she could manage to sling the saddle onto becomes docile to her command and willing to serve as mount and battle-comrade until the saddle is removed, at which time its lingering allegiance depends entirely on the rider’s magnanimity during its use!
Activation: Even after successfully getting the saddle on the dragon’s back, a command word in ancient Jute must be loudly uttered.

Chain Mail
Appearance: A full and flexible shirt of black-iron chain mesh that protects her entire torso and shoulders, gleaming insidiously in any light.

Lady Erin is fearless, powerful, and ambitious. She may be a little too ambitious, in fact, and her Aesin attitude does not endear her to most. When her search for dragons go awry, there may be few she can depend on for help.
