Chrysalis: Preordainment (father a lumberjack in sleepy little community; struggled with academics as a child, preferring to run about the nearby Armstrong Redwood Forest; when the 2nd Resurgence arrived, the teenaged Holly made a natural choice for her beauty and fascination with nature, and she was taken while brazenly climbing one of the sequoia trees without supervision, and the sublimity of reaching the canopy reeled her into the Glamour), 1999

The Test: Trial by Knowledge (when she returned to town, her Chrysalis went unnoticed for a good while: she more and more skipped class to run through the woods like a wild child, care free and unaware of the change; finally, she simply ran away from home, and the Chrysalid’s untamed raw Glamour finally drew notice, and she was escorted to Cat Windsor, where the other recently arrived Aesin took her under wing and taught her the ways of the Sidhe)

Key Event #2: Treachery (at first, the other nobles of the region rejected her seemingly silly and childish claim, but it became clear that the weight of the Dreaming, likely as a legacy from Arcadia, backed Holly’s claim, and the ruler of Kingdom of Pacifica, Queen Aeron, finally allowed Holly to rule this small sliver of forest as a principality, called Nicosia, which she ruled over into the Near Dreaming as well, employing her Arts to establish safe Trods through the realm and to key points, including a spectacular manor that seems to form naturally out of the base of a mighty redwood)
Transition: Defeat (where power rises, so does envy, and soon other nobles and fae challenged her right to rule, despite her apparent truce with the local Nunnehi that they could not match; under frequent harassment and even attack, Holly’s personal magical prowess proved never quite enough; she even sought the local werewolves’ aid to no avail; help finally arrived in the form of the Van Ness girls who, with Queen Serena’s guidance, arrived to help her drive out all usurpers and invaders from Nicosia, in exchange for her loyalty to the Ensemble)

Weakness
All Shall Love Me and Despair


She is perhaps the purest Aesin one may find: ruling not only from a forest wilderness but over it like the mighty elemental queen she is. She is sublime, wondrous, and absolutely terrifying. What was, must be again--even Aeron respected that. As a consequence, the only two faeries in all of Pacifica not bound by the Dreaming itself to bow before Holly are she and Serena.

Likelihood of Corruption


Very low.

Holly is pure faerie royalty. Where High King David emulates an Arthurian majesty, Holly is an older, scarier kind of regnant. The Shadow Court keeps a safe distance lest she catch sight of those Fomhoire-bootlickers and smite them off the face of the earth.
